Jackie practices environmental law with Dianne Saxe, a top environmental law specialist. The firm is regularly consulted by governments, business, individuals and environmental groups, and provides advice on all aspects of environmental litigation, policy and corporate commercial matters. The firm’s highly regarded blog is available at www.envirolaw.com. Jackie serves on the Board of the Canadian Institute of Environmental Law and Policy (CIELAP). She also works as a pharmacist at the Ontario Pharmacists Association’s Drug Information & Research Centre. One of her keen interests is the impact environmental issues have on human health.



Scott Hurren

Scott Hurren is the Commercial Manager for Sims Recycling Solutions Canada. In this role, Scott is responsible for engaging both the public and Government in secure e-waste recycling through various marketing, association, lobbying, and new business development efforts.

With an educational background in Business and Communications and a career filled with successful entrepreneurial ventures, Scott brings both innovation and a strong voice to sharing the Sims Recycling Solutions mission with both consumers and corporations. A long history of developing, owning, and managing various businesses has earned Scott a keen insight into the challenges
Owners and Operators face in the safe handling of their electronic waste.

Scott’s leadership capabilities extend to his personal life in serving as the Club President for the Rotary Club of Bolton and active volunteering with both various Policing Advisory and Road Watch Committees. Scott is a strong advocate of environmental and social causes and is not only a professional, but a personal champion, of the recycling initiatives that Sims Recycling Solutions has brought to Canada.

Ellen McGregor is the Chief Executive Officer of Fielding Chemical Technologies Inc. Recognized for her accomplishments in business and for business, Ellen was named 2010 Business Person of the Year by the Mississauga Board of Trade.

Believing that credentials are pivotal to sustainability, Ellen led Fielding to become the first in the world in its industry to become registered to the environmental management system ISO 14001.

Formerly, Ellen was Manager of Training & Development at Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt. There, she designed and delivered training programs to lawyers and support staff on a wide variety of subjects, including effective integration of technology into the practice of law.

Ellen loves travel with her family, gardening on her farm and writing music.

Jo-Anne St. Godard
Executive Director, Recycling Council of Ontario

Jo-Anne has been with the Recycling Council of Ontario for 12 years, the past 8 as Executive Director. With the RCO, Jo-Anne has played a key role in furthering the waste reduction and recycling mandate in Ontario and beyond. In tandem with the RCO’s multi-stakeholder membership, Jo-Anne works directly with local and provincial governments to develop informed and effective, outcomes-based waste reduction policies and programs. She also works with businesses and industry to help them understand and leverage opportunities from their environmental obligations and business models.

With RCO, Jo-Anne supports markets-based solutions that drive the best outcomes under the most progressive environmental standards. In that regard, she was the founder and creator of a procurement-based stewardship program called Take Back the Light, which has collected more than 5 million mercury-containing lamps, a program that works in the absence of regulation but leverages procurement requirements in the supply chain. Using that same markets-based approach, Jo-Anne recently lead the RCO team to launch a new waste diversion certification program, 3RCertified, the first of its kind in North America.

About the Recycling Council of Ontario
The Recycling Council of Ontario is a not-for-profit organization committed to minimizing society's impact on the environment by eliminating waste. RCO's mission is to inform and educate all members of society about the generation of waste, the avoidance of waste, the more efficient use of resources and the benefits and/or consequences of these activities. Since its inception in 1978, RCO has actively assisted municipalities, corporations, other organizations and individuals in reducing their waste.



Andrew Stewart
VP of Corporate Services and Marketing for Compugen

Andrew Stewart is the VP of Corporate Services and Marketing for Compugen, Canada’s largest privately owned IT solutions provider. He provides leadership to Compugen’s marketing, human resources, facilities and payroll groups. Andrew plays a major part in managing relationships with technology partners for Compugen and participates as a member of a number of global advisory boards for technology leaders including HP and Microsoft. Andrew is an MBA graduate from the University of Toronto and has also pursued doctoral studies in education at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto. He is an active contributor to the Dublin based Innovation Value Institute (IVI) which brings together participants from industry and academe, including Intel, the Boston Consulting Group and the National University of Ireland, to develop best practice models for information technology. He serves on IVI’s Sustainable IT, IT Infrastructure and Cloud working groups. Prior to joining Compugen, Andrew was Director of Executive Programs at the Rotman School of Management of the University of Toronto.

A Graduate of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Andrew has a keen interest in music. He studied music in the UK and in Austria and worked for a number of years at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto conducting choral and orchestral ensembles and directing student programs. He is the former conductor of a UK-based opera group and worked as a freelance choral singer.

For nearly ten years Andrew has served on the Boards of Directors of Frontier College and the Frontier College Foundation, working to support the development of literacy. He also serves on the advisory board for the Business School at Humber College in Toronto and is a member of the Property and Finance Committee of the Board of Directors of Trent University in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Healthcomms, an early stage ompany dedicated to developing technology solutions for the care of the individuals both at home and in residential care. Andrew is a Fellow of the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufacturers and Commerce.

Bruce Westaway has over 20 years of experience in various sales/consulting/service delivery roles at Metro Waste Paper Recovery Inc, now Cascades Recovery.
